Data sync architecture
A end-to-end engagement for organisations that need a durable plan—and working code—for keeping critical records aligned across systems.
Who this is for
Operations or IT directors in South Africa who already run at least two systems of record—often ERP plus CRM, warehouse, or a custom line-of-business app—and need customer-facing or regulatory reports to reflect the same numbers. Your team may have middleware in place that “mostly works” but breaks under schema changes or peak load.
Outcome
You receive an architecture document, interface contracts, a reference sync implementation in your chosen language and hosting environment, automated tests for golden scenarios, and a handover session with your developers and support desk.
Included
- Workshops with domain owners to capture conflict resolution (e.g., which system wins for price, stock, or status fields)
- Volume and latency targets with back-pressure strategy
- Idempotency keys, dead-letter handling, and alert thresholds
- Pair programming blocks with your engineers during build
- Runbook for common failure modes
Excluded
- Licensing or subscription fees for third-party middleware products
- Full data migration from legacy systems (can be quoted separately)
- 24/7 managed operations after handover (see sync operations review)
Provider & process
Led by Sync Meridian’s principal consultant, supported by a contract programmer when volume warrants. Weeks 1–2: discovery on-site in Johannesburg or at your Gauteng facility. Weeks 3–6: design and iterative builds with weekly demos. Weeks 7–8: hardening, load sampling, and handover. Remote participation is welcome for distributed teams.
Timeline & preparation
Plan for six to ten weeks depending on interface count. Before kickoff, gather sample payloads, current job schedules, and three examples of recent sync failures. VPN or sandbox access must be arranged through your security team.
Pricing basis
Fixed fee from ZAR 185,000 ex VAT for a single bounded sync corridor (two systems, up to eight entity types). Additional corridors quoted after discovery. Rate table.
